Each new enquiry becomes a Lead in Salesforce. If the guest's email is already there, that Lead is updated instead, so you don't get duplicates. The event details (type, date, guest numbers, quote total and proposal link) go in the Lead's Description.
Connecting
- In Innkept, open Integrations and click Connect next to Salesforce.
- Click Connect Salesforce, sign in to Salesforce and approve access.
- That's it. The connection renews itself. If someone removes Innkept's access in Salesforce, you'll see the problem on the Integrations page.
What arrives in Salesforce
| Lead field | What's in it |
|---|---|
| First Name / Last Name | The guest's name |
| Company | The guest's name again. Salesforce insists on a company, and most of your guests are private customers. |
| Email / Phone | The guest's contact details |
| Lead Source | Innkept Quote |
| Description | Event type and date, guest numbers, quote total and proposal link |
To fill in your own Salesforce fields, such as an event date field, open the Salesforce connection in
Innkept and add a row under Field mapping: the Salesforce field's API name on the
left (e.g. Event_Date__c), the Innkept value on the right.
No duplicate leads
Before creating a Lead, Innkept looks for one with the same email. If it finds one, it updates it. A Lead you've already converted to a Contact or Opportunity is left alone: the update won't go through, and you'll see that on the Integrations page.
